I think it will be up to the carriers to release it. We all know CDMA phones are at the bottom of the poll (Sprint/Verizon) so we would be the last to see it.

Unless Microsoft just releases it to Zune...then we might actually get it on Sept 1st and that would be awsome.
well sprint released the may security update in time so I think it'll get out there soon too. and I thought carriers only had control of OTA updates?

This would be very welcome news indeed. Hopefully Sprint will be one of the quick launchers and not drag their feet like AT&T did for NoDo.

Re: Mango released to users on Sept 1st ?

One can only hope. So far I can say I haven't been extremely happy with the limited OS of the original and NoDo OS I've got in my phone and I've only had it for about 1 month now. I know I was coming from an OS that was many years in the making with WM6.5 but I have to say I have been very disappointed in the knowledge that MS put out such a limited OS on a phone they launched with the intention of gaining any significant share and being a major player again in the smartphone market. I will concede the limited number of applications. that's to be expected with an entirely new setup and system, that will correct itself in time, but the fact they shipped such a stripped down OS to be their best foot forward into the arena is unacceptable.

Also, as was stated by one and rebuked by another, I to am a home user that uses Outlook and desire, no, REQUIRE the ability to sync my outlook from my home computer to my hand held device and not have to go through the clouds to do it. I don't sync with work, or school, or any place else that I require my data to be placed into the internet "cloud bank". There's absolutely no excuse for why a Windows Phone 7 device cannot link up and communicate directly with my Windows 7 Computer.

pues tendrá de acostumbrarse de las nuevas métodos de sincronizar. people wanted AS and WMDC to be gone because of all the issues and its now gone with wp7. the contact sync issue maybe fixed with just a simple Zune update but I'm not sure.

Windows Phone 7 Mango September 1st release “Just a rumor” | WMPoweruser

We were somewhat suspicious of a September push for Windows Phone 7.5 Mango yesterday, as it seemed rather early. The date was supposed to coincide with the big European consumer electronics show IFA which starts on September 1st and was confirmed by Pocket-lint’s “trusted sources”.
Now Joe Belfiore, the corporate vice president and director of Windows Phone Program Management, has poured some cold water on the rumour, saying it is just that.
Of course we could still be surprised, but in our estimate we will probably see devices being released in October, on the anniversary of the first Windows Phone 7 release in late October 2010, and the OS update start being pushed out by some carriers around the same time too.
Were you expecting a September release? Let us know below

Yea, Joe Belfiore said just a rumor. He did not say no. He's one of those guys when it comes to WP, when he talks, you listen.

Oh, well, don't get your hopes up...

EDIT: As I think about, there will be a BIG push to get everyone to mango ASAP. The Marketplace is holding back apps for a little bit, so everyone could get up to speed on the new apps.

Don't think MS wants to have people not being able to run the newest of apps and people on NoDo will not get new apps any more, so it would be a MAJOR push to get people over to Mango ASAP.

I guess time will tell but, don't count this out yet...
