Most people already went android...those that didn't have legacy plans and probably will go Android come Oct 1st...most people just don't like M$ way of dropping winmo for no reason and go into a closed ecosystem..that said there are a few people still interested in WP7...check out the WP7 gang in the off-topic.

I don't think people are implying that WP7 lacks any business features, but having Exchange access alone doesn't make it any better of a business phone then the iPhone or Android OS.

I would like to know if they will allow enterprise level customers to side load their apps. To my knowledge FERPA and HIPAA regulations must be observed or receive the wrath of the Federal Government. Companies should not be asking for permissions from Microsoft to approve apps on their mobile devices and exposing their companies data during and after the approval process. How is Microsoft prepared to handle businesses like these?

I went with the Evo. If I knew then what I know now, I would have waited a bit longer before making the change. The reason for changing: HanDBase will not be coming to WP7 for the foreseeable future and that means I have no reason to stay.

Re: get you business Qs answered

I have an EVO, for now, but mostly because I love the hardware. I'm decidedly NOT an Android fan having used it now since the release of the EVO. I love my ZuneHD, and I'm really looking forward to having a WP7 device by Christmas, I hope.

And as most people know, I'm a business user exclusively, although with the right battery life, I would definitely consider using it to replace my ZuneHD for my multimedia needs. So having said that, I very much consider multiple Exchange accounts + SharePoint/Office integration a business-friendly device.

What makes or breaks WP7 is whether developers will quickly release applications for it to supplement and complement WP7 and whether or not carriers will release attractive models with good promotion.

Initially, no, they won't allow it. WP7 is essentially a 1.0 rebuild, and they've made it clear they won't allow this scenario early on. However, they've stated in numerous interviews and blog posts that they'll expand to allow this in the future if there is a demand for it.

I really don't see it as a real limitation. You're making the case about data leaks, but it's irrelevant. It's just an application, not the data, and if you're using the right mechanisms for authentication and licensing the application, it would never be an issue, since no Average Joe Consumer could make any use of it even if it were leaked.
