Windows Mobile and Cisco Clean Access

Hey everybody, I just recently joined the forum as I decided to upgrade my Q9c to a touch pro 2 and it just arrived today. After I received the phone I tried to connect to my universities WIFI network and was prompted to install cisco clean access for some reason. I have a friend who uses an iPhone on the network and their able to authenticate using the browser authentication. So im guessing that the people who run the network never put in an exception for Windows CE based devices. Would anybody happen to have a solution to accessing the wifi network using my phone? The only method I could come up with was to modify the MAC address to my Playstation 3's mac address. The network is set up so if you have a PS3/Xbox mac no authentication is required. Would this even be possible to change the MAC on a ppc?

Thanks,
Ryan

Re: Windows Mobile and Cisco Clean Access

If it takes a login then once you connect to the SSID open up Opera and try web browsing. Once you hit the redirect sign in then just go about it.

Re: Windows Mobile and Cisco Clean Access

The problem with this is that once I login at the redirect I am prompted to install Cisco Clean Access before I can access the network due to the fact the server is recognizing my phone as a windows computer.

Oh ok. Go to your browser settings (it might be under Opera:Config) and change it to a mobile browser instead of a full web browser.

Re: Windows Mobile and Cisco Clean Access

We have Clean Access at our school and our help desk has a tool to exlcude a specifc MAC address from enforcement.

We use it to allow game consoles onto the network.

I would talk to them.
