No you cannot, Verizon stopped this last year, No Sprint phone's can be activated on Verizon.

how does verizon know if its a sprint phone or not, if you do it over the phone? Do they keep a list of ESNs ?

All major providers have a list of their branded phone esns. They won't allow activation of a non database esn without some luck.
