yeah the point is that it was not orginally designed for touch screen, they just had to keep tweaking the OS, whereas apple and android were specifically designed for touch screen. Besides, there are so many iphone and android UIs now anyways as far as "finger friendly" goes, the only reason people seem to prefer the iphone is the apps, which I agree that windows needs to come out with some good looking apps pronto.

Re: Anyone Else feel WM7 will be a flop?

Re: Wow factor -

All my friends with Iphones go "Wow" when I show them my WinMo phone's features. Yes, Iphone has the icon platform, but the same is available for WinMO (i.e. iphonetoday and other apps.) However, Iphone users can't duplicate some things we have. For instance, HTC's sleek Sense 2.5 interface, the integrated weather animations, etc. They also have no way to run the Skyfire browser which gives users the ability to run any flash site (and with that tons of video sites like justin.tv that are closed to Iphone users.) I am also not aware of any app that turns an Iphone into a wireless router to tether multiple laptops and PDAs simultaneously. Whenever I show these types of capabilities to an Iphone user their jaw drops. At the same time my jaw stays firmly in place the other way around. Now, I don't see why I should care whether some of the "candy" is courtesy of MS itself or third-party (like HTC or SPB.)

If WM7 is like HTC's Sense 2.5, but integrated and with additional goodies, it should blow the Iphone's OS out of the water and compete well with Android. One key is to showcase eye candy, the other key is to have desireable apps in place at launch, of course.

i don't care about wm7 anymore. i jumped onto the pixi & palm webos ship and im loving it. microsoft is a little to late considering webos, apple and android are far superior IMO.

Re: Anyone Else feel WM7 will be a flop?

In my opinion, the problem with the current 6.x generation of their products is that they are so structured.

It's like playing a video game like World of Warcraft, but even though you can see wide-open space in front of you, there is an invisible barrier that prevents you from going through it.

I'm hoping that Windows Mobile 7 renews people's desire to have it again.
