Sprint Plan question for touch pro 2

So i currently have Fair and flexible 550 with 2 lines, Sprint has provided me with free unlimited data on both phones and 300 text messages for 2.50 a month becuase of errors in billing they have made and reoccurring fraud that kept happening on my account. They told me i could have that as long as i was a customer to keep me satisfied. Now i wanted to buy a touch pro 2 and they said i would have to upgrade to "Evertything data family" Which that plan would roughly double my bill. After being transferred a few times someone admitted that i didn't have to switch my plan and i would just be missing out on a few feature of that plan SprintNav PremiumTV etc. Can anyone verify this?
I went into the store and the rep there saw that they had put a note in my account saying that they could do that but she didn't think they could.

True. I still use my TP2 with a shared Fair & Flexible plan. But if you want a Pre, Pixi, Instinct, or Hero, the system won't even activate the phones unless you have an everything plan.

I've done a ton of research on this because I tried to exchange my TP2 for a Hero and they said I was SOL and all online discussion said the same as well. I'm going to laugh when someone files suit against Sprint for trying to force grandfathered plans out. Eventually all of their phones will be that way, so I wonder what they're planning on doing when someone wants a new phone or is forced to upgrade their phone and they can't activate it unless they change plans.

Good to know. I am slightly pissed though cause i know i will have to go through this battle every time i want a new phone.
Glad to know i can keep saving 50+ dollars a month though :)
