EVDO rev b!!!!

does anyone belive this will hit the states before the lte network is online?

Not sure if it'll ever be implemented. While it's basically channel-bonding and a small upgrade for base stations as well as phone radio hardware, LTE and 802.16e will probably be focused on instead. No sense in upgrading up your 3G network when you've gone live on your 4G network.

Rev.B is the end of the line for CDMA2000.

while lte is the main focus from what i understand is that they will still be using cdma as the voice and also some data!!

Yes, but it still does not make financial sense to upgrade your "legacy" cellular network when you are trying to push your 4G network. It's doubtful that we'll ever see Rev.B.

It could make sense for sprint to do it cause wimax towers don't support voice. from what I understand they will still be using regular towers for voice and wimax towers for data. revb might make the transition more seemless imo. I doubt it will happen though

Who said 802.16e doesn't support voice? It will, but not yet. the 4GV vocoder spec is designed for WiMax/LTE in mind, so you'll eventually see voice on it. Especially when EVR-WB becomes a selling point for networks.

with this being said sprint and verizon probly wouldnt happen!! i do belive the 2.5 and 3g networks will still be around and used for a long time! even after lte is on line!! well they my cut off 1x but i dout it because there isnt 3g coverage every where yet ! and i also feel that at launch lte will not support voice!!!
