Two phones, same number? is it possible?

I was wondering if it is possible for two phones to be active on the same number at the same time.

I would like to turn on my old phone to use when i'm working on the house or my car and then switch back to my new phone when it is in less danger of being crushed or dropped.

I'd like this to be possible without illegal cloning or having to esn swap in the system (*22

Does anyone have an idea how?

its impossible without illegal cloning of esn. esn cloning is a taboo subject on this site..

Sorry, can't do that, but if you manage your account online, you can switch phones back and forth. I do it all the time. I have a Curve 8330 that I activate whenever danger lurks, and when things are a bit more settled, I activate my Imagio. Pain in the butt, yes...but its the best solution I can come up with and I don't even have to call VZW to do it, just click "Activate my phone" link.

if both phones are activated you could get a google number and have it ring both phones.

Is there a tutorial or walk through thread somewhere?

For that, both phones would need to be activated and that would cost you for two lines.

But, on your Alltel online page, there is a place to switch between phones. You need to call Alltel and get the second phone set up on your account, then afterwards all you have to do is log into your Alltel page and switch back and forth.
