wondering how to ...

I need help installing new programs on my smartphone. I've downloaded some programs that when you unzip it it is a single XML file and the rest are windows files. Help please?

Chances are, you are unzipping a .cab file. These are not meant to be unzipped. They should be transferred to your phone and then installed there.

any specific folder on a windows based device or more detailed instructions would be appreciated. Sorry im a total noob.

No prob, just transfer the file to your phone using Activesync. It will end up in your My Documents folder. Open File Explorer and navigate to the "My Documents" folder. Click the .cab file and installation will begin.
