WOW, i think i blew out my gps reciever!

Before i was charging it through the 12v cable via my siedio car kit..
but i have a lighter/charger cable that will connect direct to it..
So i connected it up, and my gps reciever started flashing yellow real fast..
i just thought it was charging.. i started smelling that burned electronic smell and it just wont come on now.. even when disconnected.. Aint that some tihs?

So now i need a new bluetooth gps reciever, any recommends??
more than likely i'll go the bestbuy route(yea yea i know i know), so anything from there is welcome for recommending. I really dont wanna spend no more than $50 on one..

EDIT: well i just came back from retesting via the 12v cable via seidio car kit and its flashing yellow orange just as fast. but when i disconnect it and turn it on.. nothing. could be a bad battery, bad cell battery(if one is in it?)

Which receiver do you have? I had the battery go out on my BT338. However, it still would work when connected to a a charger.
