Touch Screen Scratch removal or polishing

Has anyone tried this and succeeded or failed?

If so what method worked or didn't?

Any caveats before I try a tiny polishing bob on a high speed dental hand piece with some watch crystal polishing rouge?

Are there any of these phones that have screens which are differnt than the others?

I had amazing success using high speed polishing equipment and the same use rouge used for polishing plastic watch crystals. Not perfect and I didn't bother with the one tiny deep scratch, but all the scuffed (the kind that provide a feedback thru the stylus which makes you certain it's only a matter of time before it eats thru to the magic color stuff and lets it all leak out) areas, which resulted from it sliding across a rough finished concrete floor

are gone and feel very smooth under the stylus and are no longer visible to the naked eye

while I was at it I unsharpened my stylus, which is way sharper than any I've had with other touch screen phones

most excellent now!!!

wish I had taken before and after pix

I have found that old fashioned car turtle wax (paste type) applied, dried, and buffed off works wonders. Not to mention it puts a protective wax coating on the screen that is super smooth and gives some protection from scratching. It's easy to reapply every couple months and also works well from keeping the oils from your cheek from smudging it all up. (still smudges but super easy to wipe off)

There seems to be some disagreement between whether or not car wax is good for the screen. Some say it somehow affects it, though I don't see how it would. Anyone else try this?

Maybe this is a little off topic but it still has to do with scratches. I've read and seen the demo from ZAGG's Invisible Shield that it was able to cover scratches. However, that was for the back part of the iphone. I am wondering now how scratches on the lcd would look with invi shield on. Would it conceal the rainbow streak effect from a scratch or would it magnify it? I am dead scared to wipe my screen with chemicals that is why I am opting for concealment of the scratch instead.
