Necessary to clean PPC?

I've been using my ppc for about a yr now and I have never used any software to clean or remove unnecessary files on my ppc but I am curious about it. Will this help make my ppc function better or faster? Also, is it necessary to do a windows update? Please shed some light, thanks!

+1 for above post. As I've said before, a clean up app is probably one of the first apps any new PPC user should install. The others are a backup app and a file manager

what about windows update, should i do that? i tried doing the update before and i got an error, "connection to update server was not available. check your data connections settings and ensure the device date and time are correct."

I run both MemMaid and SKTools .. I find them both to have their strengths ... However, would agree that you need a cleanup tool. Your device will run sooo much better!

I also agree about MemMaid. The thought of a hard reset and subsequent reinstall from nothing is not what I am interested in doing at any stage of the game. MemMaid and Sprite Backup (paid) are what I use.

Are there any freeware? I'm not paying $25 for a PPC program.

Urban check www.freewarepocketpc.net. They should have a cleaner on there, I'm not sure, but I think I remember seeing one. Either way, plenty of good apps there.
