Thumbs up $99 Tegra based devices possible this year??

According to nvidia, device built using their tegra chips could be manufactured and sold at as low a price point as $99!

http://www.nvidia.com/object/platform.html

This is more than likely due to the fact that these chips combine what are currently multiple separate processors in current devices, packing each into one chip, smaller than a dime! Today, our ppc's are running several processors: a cpu, gpu, gps, and I believe sound processor--all separate, split throughout a complex motherboard! These new Tegra chips do all that processing (except probably the gps, that probably still has to be separate) thus saving loads of battery power, taking stress off the cpu as the more advanced gpu can handle greater visuals with ease!

More good news: HTC is apparently going to utilize this awesome technology!!

I'm guessing the Touch Pro 3 and Diamond 3 will be built featuring these Tegra chips, So I'm holding onto my current TP until the Tegra devices make their appearance.

I doubt they will be that cheap though. think about it as these phones get faster and better the price just keeps going up i highly doubt that with somthing this :ground breaking theyll let it go for less than youll find a Htc vogue on craigslist. IMHO

You're probably quite right, but if they could sell them for that cheap if they wanted to and still get a decent profit, they will probably at least go for prices that can contend with the iphone by a lot.
