Backlight/Standby

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if this is a limitation of WinMo. I'm currently using a Samsung Saga with WinMo 6.1. When the backlight turns off, the phone is still lit up. I can put it in standby mode to turn the screen off. So here is the problem.. When I put the phone in standby, my instant messenger applications disconnect. It doesn't seem to matter which one I'm using. I want to be able to turn the screen completely off, but not have the phone on standby. Or if there is some way to enable internet connections or programs to run while on standby I could do that too. Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Re: Backlight/Standby

Is that a joke? So is this just a part of WinMo?
