EVDO Rev 0 Vs HSDPA

I've been hesitant about ever switching to a newer phone on the GSM network since I had heard the coverage and speeds weren't that good. Well, I guess in my area they have pretty d@mned good coverage!

I did a couple of speed tests using www.testmy.net
6700 Tethered via USB:
Download: 476 kbps
Upload: 120 kbps

Cingular Air Card:
Download: 4.2 Mbps
Upload: 450 kbps

Obviously the tests are a little skewed because the upper limit of HSDPA is supposed to be around 3.6 Mbps. Still, that is some good stats for my area (hour NW of Detroit).

Heh, right now In my area, EVDO is king, and only Verizon has it... Sprint should have their towers up by this fall, Hopefully sooner, Cuz they have been working on the towers alot lately...

As far as Ive seen cingular/at&t/etc dont even have HSPDA around here yet...
