Google text search

Sorry if this is old news, but I've been reading these forums for a few years and haven't seen it.

If you send an inquiry text (for example: Barley's Asheville NC) to 46645 you will receive a text within a few mins of the address and phone number. Works with business and residential listings. I have it saved in my contacts for quick access. The service is free, but of course it counts as a text message.

Instead of paying sprint for a 411 call, dial 1-800-373-3411. You will listen to a short advertisement then be prompted for your search.

I also have *4 programmed as a speed dial to check my minutes since we can't view our sprint account online with our devices.

First one's good (you can do a heck of a lot more, too, like define: and get a dictionary definition of a word), although considering we have EVDO and web browsers, we could always just use actual Google and get more than 160 characters' worth of information.

800-FREE-411 is something I've heard a lot about lately, and I might just have to give it a try, although I'd usually rather Google it.

And I'm a touch confused by the last one. *4's been the code for many years to do this, and why do you need it in speed dial? Isn't *4 already few enough digits to dial?

The goggle SMS is great when you are looking up a phone # because you can just click that # and it will dial it for you. IE.. If I click "Best Buy Austin" in the body of the text. It will pop back several Texts with the addresses and phone #'s. From there I click the # and boom its calling for me. I love the feature myself. Its great for movie showtimes also.
