Using HTC Touch on Alltel Prepaid

Does anyone know how to get Alltel to add a HTC Touch onto their prepaid account? I am currently carrying an iPaq and a simple Alltel prepaid phone and want to combine the two. I don't want to use Alltel's data plan or the internet unless I am near a WiFi hotspot. Alltel says there is no way to turn off the internet access. Any thoughts on how I could do this would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Using HTC Touch on Alltel Prepaid

The CDMA Touch (Alltel's cellular technology) does not have WiFi, so a data plan is pretty much necessary to make the phone worth using.

Re: Using HTC Touch on Alltel Prepaid

Thanks for your reply.

What if I chose the Touch Diamond, or another newer phone? I could forego internet access altogether as I don't have it now on the iPaq anyway. What I'm looking for is to have iPaq functionality with the capability to use the phone on Alltel's prepaid network. Any additional information you can provide would be helpful.

Re: Using HTC Touch on Alltel Prepaid

Infinity Mobile has the HTC Diamond and HTC Touch Pro available for prepaid. I am using the HTC Diamond, paying $59.99 a month for unlimited talk/text. It's been working out awesome. They have even lower priced plans if you don't need the unlimited - www.infinitymobile.com
