This Mobile Broadband coverage is expected to launch in early 2Q07. In order for customers to take advantage these changes they must update their PRL. See Additional Resources section for more details on Mobile Broadband Connection Cards.

Requesting Automatic PRL Updates
The over-the-air (OTA) flagging process is used to update a large number of customers’ PRLs. Corporate Development, PRL Roaming Team “flags” affected customers for a PRL update based on data that indicates customers who would benefit most from the update. While an individual customer on a national account may periodically be targeted for an over-the-air PRL through the normal process, it is unlikely that the entire account will be targeted. The flagging process can be used to request updates for all subscribers on the account. The process begins once the PRL Update Request Form is filled out. All requests for PRL updates must be done through this form. PRL Update Request Form.
After the form is submitted, Corporate Development assesses the need and feasibility of flagging the account. If approved, Corporate Development will provide a communication piece that must be distributed to the end-users. The communication will provide the customer with the appropriate instructions to download the PRL.
What is a PRL?
PRL Functions – Directs the handset to the correct network in a timely manner.
Functions NOT preformed by the PRL
- Does not remedy credit card prompts in roaming areas
- Does not help with dropped calls
- Does not help with call quality (e.g. static, cross-talk, etc.)
- Does not enhance or add phone features
- Does not need to be updated when new towers are added in an area.
