how can i create or convert to 3g2?

I'm looking for a free way to convert mp3 or ppt files to 3g2 (3gpp2). My brother in law has a samsung m520 and my sisters have lg rumors... i'm trying to get some ringtones for them without using DATA or buying Quicktime Pro.

FREEEEEEE

they don't have a data plan

thanks in advance

there are some good videos on youtube. Just google ringtones on LG Rumor. I will tell you though, the rumor is a pain. If I remember correctly, with you have a mp3 you need to convert it to a wmv then to a 3g2. Then just hope you got the volume loud enough.

I would get a link to the video for you but I can't get to youtube at work. sorry.

edit: the LG Scoop (Rumor) is so much easier. You can do that with BitPim.

hey thanks for the reply...

i am also at work... no youtube... just ppcgeeks haha

but i have a copy of quicktime pro... what I'm going to do is create a slideshow using 1 picture and inserting a short mp3 clip... then creating a 3g2 video file. putting that file on the phone through the microSD card and using it as a video ringer.

pain in the butt.... however, i am a nerd with little else to do.

EDIT: http://www.instructables.com/id/S1RJPK4F4G5D787/ i'll try this when i get home along with the QTpro that i just downl... errr.. bought

i will post tonight regarding the success/failure of the attempt

For anyone interested, i got it to work.

if you have any use for the info... PM me.

this is proven to work on the LG Rumor and Samsung m520. (should work on any phone that can support video ringers)
