Better way to manage (and delete) SMS messages on 6.1?
 

Howdy, perhaps I'm a total moron with this one, but I'd like to delete a large number of my 1,000s of text messages off the phone. Not deleting them all though! How can this be done?

I've looked on the phone, I've attempted to use Windows Mobile Device Center, and I even perused through the mDesktop app.

No joy thus far.

For ex; I want to keep all messages from about March 08 forward and remove anything prior.

Anyone?

i'm not sure there is anything like what your wanting, but I use dashwire to back up all that stuff, then I can delete them all from my phone.. if I need to find something, just search form the dashwire dashboard

In WM5 messaging there is the Purge option (under menu). It allows you to purge messages based on the following criteria:

Older than one week
Older than two weeks
Older than one month
Delete all messages

don't seem to find this one anywhere... choice steps to find?

i'm on WM 6.1, Text Messages section, looking in Menu - Only see 'Delete All' option.

you can do some regedits and turn off threades messaging and delete one by one.
