NEED ADVICE - PPC 6700 has to be repalced / STORE = NO STOCK

My local Sprint store said they don't have the PPC 6700 anymore and said if they replace my phone it will be for a Treo 700WX.

Should I give it a try? What are the MAIN differences besides no Wi Fi on the Treo between the two? Is the Treo inferior as far as features/performance?

I have had so many problems with my PPC 6700 (replaced about 4 times since December 2005) Thought I should post here since a lot of you guys have knowledge about these two devices.

Thanks!

Well they are very different devices, I love my 700wx. Also the 700wx's screen is 240x240 square instead of the 240x320 from the PPC-6700.

As far as how powerful they are... I don't really know since I have not used the 6700. Expect to find less user support for the 700wx; there are no custom ROMs for it and we don't know if there will be... things like that.

As I said, I enjoy my 700wx a lot... but don't know much about the 6700. I think Malatesta used to have the 6700 and I know he had a 700wx, so if he sees this he could give you a better comparison.

Thanks. Well I just read at howard forums that the 700WX + Sling Box doesn't support full screen mode view, so that sucks ...

what u could do is take the wx and sell it or trade it for a 6700. both phones are pretty much similar, main thing about the wx is that making calls is easier but the square screens kin of sucks, but is more stable.

This is great news for the people waiting for the 6800. Although my 6700 will last until........after the 6800 is out.

NNNNNOOOOOO!!!!! Don't get the 700wx you will regret it hang on to your 6700 till the 6800 comes out in 2 months, if you have to get a replacement now go to another store call around but DON'T let them stick you with a Treo. IMHO  Seariously tho I had a 700wx and I went back to the 6700 the Treo has some nice stuff but IMO this treo is all locked up, its a nice piece of hardware but the bluetooth sucks and finding software that doesnt conflict with some pare of the OEM programing is a crap shoot. I will take a beating from the Treo lovers around here for saying this but most of them have never owned a 6700, and speaking as a person who has had both the 6700 is better. I have a Q now but I sold my 700wx to get it I still have my 6700 that should say it all. Of coarse IMHO

Thanks! Nothing like reading from someone that has had both!

I am not getting the 700WX ... I am finding a store that has the 6700.

I am not really sold on the 6800 and I can imagine how much Sprint will want when it comes out :x ... What do you guys think about the Samsung 830? I can't find any store that has one, but I am considering it since I travel a lot.

good luck finding a store with a 6700. Mine died about a month ago and it had to be replaced with a 700wx. I thought I would give it a go but to be totally honestly I really want to be back on a 6700. The phone does work better on the 700 but when I am in my car using my BT GPS and I try take a call with my BT headset the phone craps out. I have the update BT software from the 750 but it still has the issues. My 6700 would have been fine using it like that. The 700 does seem a bit faster but all in all I do think the 6700 was a better device esp. after getting AKU3.5 to work.

When my phone died I had them look nation wide for a replacement 6700 and they (at the time) only found one. Getting it to me would take a couple of days so I had to switch since I use it for work. Does anyone know if they will switch it back if a device comes available? :?
