Getting strange international sms's? read this
After quite a few tech support calls and quite alot of digging, I've discovered that my 2-4 international SMS messages that I've been charged for have come from the M:Metrics software. It sends part of your PPC usage to their servers and they pay you every 6 months for it.
BUT, I didn't sign up for international text messages. I've written them about this and have not received a reply. If you check your phones registry please make sure your software didn't put an international number like mine did: Navigate to HKLM\software\mmetrics\meter Ensure the the value is not: 1010 = 447624806298 <--- this is BAD (for us in USA) I hope this information can help someone else avoid all of this mess. |

I just read something that says that skyfire's disclosure reads that you are allowing a 3rd party to view your activities.

Hmmm...maybe Skyfire is not all that it seems.

That is some interesting news. I do not use Skyfire, but I think you could conduct a simple test to view the information being sent. Try changing the value of that registry key to someone you know. Then when they receive a strange text, have them forward it to you. I wonder what kind of information it contains. And it is very shady that it wouldn't have a recipient in the US, ESPECIALLY when it asks you your country on the Skyfire sign up page.
