Services required to run Activesync?

Okay so I'm an idiot.

In order to speed up the performance of my desktop I usually turn off as many non-essential services as possible:

(e.g. Start--> control panel--> administrative tools --> services)

Unfortunately, I disabled something required for Activesync and it no longer automatically starts.

Anyone know what services are essential for activesync? My next option is to go and turn them all back on, but before I do that I figured I'd ask.

First off, what OS are you using?

WIndows XP SP2 I think is...
wcescomm.exe

Re: Services required to run Activesync?

I'm using XP Pro SP2.

So I went back and turned almost all the services back on, and Activesync still didn't work. I had to reinstall activesync for some reason. EVerything works and now I have a chart in front of me and I am turning off a few services at a time, and restarting.

It's going to take a painstakingly long time to figure out.

Re: Services required to run Activesync?

You're looking at the wrong place to turn off startup programs.

Start > Run > Type msconfig
