Unhappy IGO Nav N Go 2006 Plus on I-Mate Ultimate 9502

Hi there,

I tried this software on my Ultimate 9502 and it is unable to find the GPS receiver. I changed the com ports to almost all possible from the list. I disabled the GPS from wireless manager and I enabled back. I tried to search from the application the GPS receiver using the detect function and I also tried to configure manually. After 2 days of doing all those things the answer is simple. the navigation software is unable to communicate with the GPS.

Have anyone tried to configure it on IMATE? if yes, are you able to see the GPS and the software is working? What you did for this?

Thank you

Re: IGO Nav N Go 2006 Plus on I-Mate Ultimate 9502

Hi there,

On my device I found I had to do it in a specific order for google maps.
My settings in 'external gps' are 'GPS program port' 'COM9'
Harware 'None' Baud rate 4800
Ticked box for Manage GPS automatically

then opened wireless manager and enabled GPS.

Then ran google maps, picked up the satellites after a couple mins.

Dunno if the same would work on your app, but worht a shot....

Thanks Andy for the reply!

What I noticed is. If you have this software you have to follow the steps you said there and the GPS should be setted up on COM9. Is mandatory to be above 8 for the version I have and then it is working.. after couple of mins off corse.

BUT, once you restart the phone the application will not start so fast.

Thumbs up Re: IGO Nav N Go 2006 Plus on I-Mate Ultimate 9502

Great, glad it works! I heard Nav N Go uses a lot of memory, perhaps this is the problem.

Re: IGO Nav N Go 2006 Plus on I-Mate Ultimate 9502

Hi bpapiiro,

I came to the same conclusion regarding the GPS device on Ultimate 9502... simply does not work if the port is below com 9... but in this case I have another big problem with iGO (2006 and 2006 Plus)... it blocks the PDA on starting... completely... I have to soft restart it...

Did you encountered the same problem?

Thank you.

Re: IGO Nav N Go 2006 Plus on I-Mate Ultimate 9502

I had the same issue where the pda stop responding and i had to reset it. BUT, as a hint, there was one day when it worked. use google map application to start the gps on a port from 1-4 and then close the google application and open igo and it will work. but, in order to start google map you need internet connectivity which costs you if you are outside the country

another solution is: sell imate and buy a normal phone and a gps separately in the end this is what i've done because the battery on imate is very very poor. less than a day if you use it to make calls.
