HOW TO TURN OFF Network detected notifications ??

Hi all,
I have been through so many mazes of my PPC 6800 (HTC Mogul/ Titan..) with the help of forums here, but cannot find the solution to a stupid problem here. NEEED HEEEEEELLLLLLPPPPP...

My phone keeps on posting notifications about every single network it detects, and since I have dozens of wireless signals it can catch, it keeps on eating up tons of battery (the other major irritation is having to keep turning off network detected notifications before you can even start operating it...) Any ideas as to how to turn it off. I think the solution may be really simple, so much so that I may have myself turned it on sometime. Now I really can do without it.... Any ideas??

Thanks
Indi

I agree, the location of the antenna causes me to briefly loose signal from the one i'm connected to, but then keeps wanting to connect to other networks.
I also noticed that if I don't broadcast my ssid, i have to manually set up the connection more often than I'd like. I wish it had more mode settings like LEAP and Enroll.
1. Open-roam - auto connects to open signal.
2. My WLAN - auto connects to secured wlan's I have acces to.

Have you tried Setting -> Sounds and Notifications -> Notifications -> Event: "Wireless Network detected" then turning off the "Display message on screen"?

I have tried the settings to switch off notifications, but no deal. So, it has to be something else...
