prl update
 

prob kind of a noob question but how do i get a new prl? i still have the 60610 and hear of everyone switching over to 60611 do i need to cal and have it flagged for an update or is there a way of me changing it. i have my all my numbers that are needed as far as getting in and changing setting.

a good source for the latest prl's is here:

there is actually a 60711 out now, I've been using it here in san diego for the last couple weeks; seems to work as good as 60611 did for me.
to change it, for sprint its ##775# then enter your MSL to get in. browse for the prl file in the My Documents folder- think thats where it looks for it by default.

Download the current PRL from the link above. Store it on your phone, I store it on my Storage Card...

Have your MSL code ready... ((You can call customer service and just tell them you want it. They will give it to you... It is a 6 digit number))

Go to your phone dialer and hit ##775#

Enter your MSL Code hit ok

Press and hold PRL... Hit edit...

Browse to the location where you stored the PRL file Hit Ok

your prl must be in my documents in order for it to find it. atleast it did mine

PRL can be anywhere on the SD card or anywhere in My Documents (subfolders included).

any details on what the benefit of upgrading to the newest PRL?

I tried searching for PRL, but since it is only 3 letters long, search yields nothing.

It's a list of tower ID's so you phone can recognize a tower and use it.

If new towers have been built in your area then yeah, it will help.

Gotcha...... well I guess I will look into that tonight and upgrade to the latest 60711 :)
