Didnt know where too post,. seached PPC and XDA found nothing.

Okay so trying to find new singles to make ringtones.

a while ago someone asked about a p2p file sharing app and one of the replys was a string that you could enter into a google search to find open mp3 directories on websites.

thought i saved it in a note file but guess not. does anyone have the search string?

Re: google mp3 seach string???

If you google for "google mp3 search" you can find lots of open directories. That runs into copyright issues so I won't go too far in that direction but there are also sites like seeqpod.com that have a nice interface to search for and listen to music and video from open directories and if you look at the urls you can usually figure out how to get the songs saved locally. Personally I still buy my music on CD because there is no DRM and the quality is the best but if I just want to hear a song or check out a band, sites like seeqpod are great. It even lets you make playlists on the fly.
