Question Verizon XV6800 vs. SMT5800

This may seem like an easy answer for some, but I am not so sure. Verizon boasts the SMT5800 stacks up with the i760 and XV6800 except without wifi, the touch screen, and with only half the ROM. Is this little thing really capable? I have never been a Smartphone fan, but this one caught my eye. Suggestions, comments? All feedback greatly appreciated.
