txt messaging problem

y is that when i recieve messages instead of the persons name popping up on the screen the phone displays the first word of the message instead, and what can i do to fix this problem

yea the same thing happens to my phone. when i recieve a message the first word of the messages pops up where the persons name should be then continues on with the message and when i click reply the first word is in the "TO" box.
what can i do to fix this?!
