Question stylus digs into screen protector??? what gives???

I know screen protectors has been talked about plenty of times, but I just couldn't find anything about my specific problem.

I've tried the Palm brand universal cut-to-fit screen protectors, and some cheap $7 job from Radio Shack. Both of them look pretty clear, but they also both feel like a layer of soft rubber that my stylus digs into and makes it hard to slide across the screen. The Palm even advertises on the pack that it will give your device a smooth surface for sliding your stylus on, but thats far from the truth. The Radio Shack pack was cheap, and isnt even necessarily for touch screen devices, yet it slides better than the Palm protector. The Radio Shack brand has a nicer install kit too, wet and dry cleaning towel, and a nice soft edged squeegee to slide the bubbles out without scratching. The Palm one I scratched with the supplied card while removing the air bubbles and had to start over.

Anyways, now I'm rambling, but my point is, whats a good sreen protector that my stylus will slide smoothly on? Or is the problem my stylus? I'm using the stock 6700, are they junk or what? I dont think this is the case because it feels great without a screen protector, thats the kind of surface I'm looking for.
