[FIXED] Question on Stock WM6 Keyboards (for solution, see post 2 and three)

So, on my HTC Diamond, I started out with a cooked rom that I purposely left the EZInput keyboards out of because they are the wrong ones and do not work correctly. After the installation and after I got everything restored, and I had the stock keyboard and transcriber and the like. I then proceeded to install the correct version of EZInput, which I am happy to say does indeed work properly, but it deleted every other keyboard that came with the device. Sometimes, I like to use my device with a stylus (GASP!) if I have it sitting on a table or something, and the huge EZInput keyboard feels like a huge waste of space when I'm using the stylus, because I could just as easily use a much smaller one and still have much more screen space to work with while the keyboard is up.

Is this possible, or didn't anyone decide to make a CAB file for it because everyone smushes their thumbs into the screen nowadays? ☺ LOL!

Thanks for all the help the community provides. Hopefully someday, I may just be the person providing the help (:rr:) to all the newbies and in doing so will be able to repay the community.

2 Bunny, your other keyboards are probably not gone they may just be disabled. Use something like PHM Regeditor to check these registry entries and make sure they are set to 1 and not 0:

Nice. You got all of them right except for the actual keyboard. But with your help pointing me in the right direction, I found it. For anyone else who is wondering:

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
CLSID
{42429667-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}
IsSipInputMethod
Set "Default" from "0" to "1"

\\:D/ Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. I found I can actually type with decent accuracy on that stock keyboard using my thumb :toothy10:.

Ok, I have a similar situation w/ a stock Imagio. When I'm not moving about I really prefer wm6 stylus board. A while back I downloaded the "list buddy" app from market place. During & after closing the app I had the wm board; after a device restart back comes the htc board until I launch app again. So, replacement phone, & not using app anymore. Is there a regedit (I have total commander) that allows the use of both sets of keyboards from pop-up menu? Perhaps the one below? I'd even settle for using the reg to switch back & forth. I've searched here, google, xda & pocketnow, this thread is the closest I've come to a solution. Please help. Thanks.

Hi, thanks for the quick response. I'm missing or don't have access to the stock winmo6.x keyboard.

What happened when you tried the registry entries?

I haven't tried the reg entries. I wanted to see if anyone knew if those entries were safe for the Imagio. Also, are these reg entries supposed to replace the htc keyboards w/ winmo boards or enable the use of both?

They should be universal. All they are doing is reenabling the stock Windows Mobile onscreen keyboards for those times your device is sitting on a flat table waiting to be used with the smaller, more efficient style keyboard.

Keep us posted.
