Changing phones from an HTC Mogul

Wife wants to get rid of her Mogul so I'm looking for suggestions to pass on to her as to what phone would be a good replacement. We have Sprint and have looked at their lineup and she has some idea as to what she wants. She saw the HTC Touch (not the Pro) online on the HTC site and likes that one so far.

Suggestions?

Touch Pro 2 no questions about it. The touch is such an old outdated phone from 2007.

My goodness, a blast from the past. The HTC Touch (Vogue) was a great phone in it's day, but the technology has really progressed since then. If it's the form factor she likes, then my recommendation would be the Diamond, although it's rapidly becoming dated as well. The Diamond has a VGA screen and wi-fi on board, which make a huge difference (which I still use).

If she wants something similar to the Mogul, then the Touch Pro 2 is the right choice ... if she is into Android, then the Hero or Moment might be calling her name. Much has changed in the last 2-3 years.

Regarding the Touch Pro 2:

She already said no to that one. She thinks it's too bulky and heavy for her. So although I'd go for that in a heartbeat, she won't (plus she said it's too expensive and blah blah blah)

Re: Changing phones from an HTC Mogul

I have a Touch and love it! It's a very user friendly phone and there are some great WM6.5.x ROMs out there, also Android if that interests her. And for the price you can find one on craigslist or ebay there is none better.

Re: Changing phones from an HTC Mogul

Well we went to the Sprint store and she played and looked at every single "Smartphone" in the store. She didn't like the bulkyness of the Pro 2, as expected, didn't like the fact that she couldn't tap the screen with her nail for the HTC Hero as well as some of the other phones, and didn't like the keyboard of the Palm Pixi at all.

Then she saw the HTC Snap and instantly fell in love with it...
So she now has a new Snap.

I was going to go for the Samsung Intrepid and even had the guy bring the phone out but I held it off until I can research it better. Right now I can use my 800w for tethering and that's a major plus for me especially at work for going around our stupid firewall requirements and so I don't get called on for Internet usage (have a VM set up that uses the phone as a modem). Not sure if I can do this same thing with the Intrepid...

Re: Changing phones from an HTC Mogul

So far she's loving it (except the part where I accidentally hard-reset it after she had configured it how she wanted it...)
