few iphone questions
I am thinking of switching from sprint to verizon, I have an evo right now, and like it very much.. I am just not all that thrilled with sprint service. I need to be able to tether in the field to my laptop for internet access, I need to do this through usb though, plugging the phone into the laptop, is this possible? I have read you can do it through wifi, but in my circumstance this is not an option. I assume you can jailbreak the iphone 4?
thanks all |
Re: few iphone questions
You can root the EVO which my brother did for me and I can tether now without having to pay for that extra monthly charge.

Re: few iphone questions
Yeah, I tether now, without rooting, just using pda net, was just wondering if the iphone 4 can be tethered via usb, thanks.

Re: few iphone questions
Ye sit can but you may need to pay AT&T for a tethering plan. I haven't seen any jailbreak apps that allow USB tethering, only wifi. But I'm not 100% sure about that

Re: few iphone questions
You can tether USB with MyWi if jailbroken... and I think PDANet does it too, but not sure about that. I tether all the time with MyWi on USB.

Re: few iphone questions
Mywi works fine for this. I heard ATT is catching people using mywi but so far I been lucky with light usage. I am not sure if Verizon is catching people like att yet.
