ok iphone pros, need some help fixing a broken 3Gs

my fience has an jphone 3gs i just replaced the screen on...


... the only problem is that now it looks like this...


.... i can barely make out the image of a battery indicating that its charging. obviously she dropped it one too many times and im trying to fix it for her. does anyone have any idea what this screen indicated or how to fix it?

I am brand new to the iphone so I cannot help but I can say that stinks.

I'm no expert with iPhone hardware by any means, but have opened up a few and replaced the Touch Screen Digitizer, LCD, and Battery. That said, from what I can tell, it looks like either the LCD is bad or it's not connected properly. I'd check all the connections first, and if they're solid and aligned properly, try another LCD.

Im pretty sure that I connected it right. I ordered an lcd screen off eBay that I'm waiting to come in. Hopefully it that will fix it.

looks like a busted LCD, install the one from ebay right and I think you'll be fine.
