Angry How to backup my contacts to a sim card ?

I have an iphone 3GS 32 gig 4.0 not jailbroken as of yet, just recently acquired and moving up from having a Verizon Windows Mobile phone where I had a lot of nice jailbreaking utility software at my disposal.
My question now with my iphone is how do I backup my contacts to my sim card ? I see an option is the "settings" to restore from my sim card but how to I backup to the card or module to begin with...?

Re: How to backup my contacts to a sim card ?

surprisingly enough, this is one feature you can't seem to do on an iPhone, even on iOS 4.0, pretty funny.

Either sync your contacts thru iTunes to have them "backed up" then convert it to a CSV file or sync it with a google account or hotmail account. Then use a winmo phone or android to do it.

IF you're coming from windows mobile you may already have a PIMbackup file (.pib) of you contacts that you were using when flashing custom roms to restore your contacts?

Your best shots for SIM backup are either go to an ATT store and they can do it or get an old Nokia phone to do transfers. Apple is stupid for keeping this feature out.

You might as well go all in and get a mobileme account and import your contacts there. Then sync it with your phone. Sim backup is old technology and still is not a good back-up cause if you loose you phone your contacts are gone. Mobileme your always safe.
