You can also unlock the baseband on iPhone 3G if you do update, see the How-To in upgrades.

I'm installing 4.0 now. I'm hoping to have a jailbreak very soon to install, but I'm just going to get 4.0 and see how it works. I'm on the 3G, so I probably won't get to play with any of the "cool" features until I jailbreak.

you won't see a JB/unlock till the iPhone 4 is in public hands IMO, because Apple can always patch things up and get the att/apple store peoples to install the updates before releasing it.

Once the phone is out though, nothing much they can do.

interesting, may just keep using backgrounder/ProSwitcher then (on iPhone 4 it will run perfect anyways) with activator.

I think they updated most of the apps you would background anyways for os 4 like pandora, etc..

Pandora got updated today and it works great. But many games wont support it, so when you get a call in the middle of the game you have to start over.

yeah, but I am sure it will be easy to update so pretty soon all the good games will be fine,

but you make a good point that it's not all peaches n cream with this multi-tasker.
