If you live in France, UK, or Canada or know someone who does, they are selliing iPhone 4s factory unlocked, meaning you can use it with any carrier worldwide you want to, whereas the ones sold in the U.S. are locked to ATT pending an unlock to come out.

Yep.

get your hands on one and you never have to worry about unlocking again, just stick any SIM card (even T-Mobile) and you're good.

the "U.S version" has a lock in the baseband preventing you from using it on other carriers, these don't have that.

But as you can see they're expensive and harder to get a hold of.
