Dial by name

Anyone know of an app that lets you dial by name? Kind of like the WM Smart Dial? I don't know anyone's numbers, and I hate switching to contacts and finding a person. I know their name... let me dial that! lol

The 3G doesn't natively support voice activation, although the 3GS does. The iPhone 4 definitely will have it natively. I believe there are some apps you can get that wil make the 3G support call activation by proxy though.

Just search for "voicedialer" in the app store, i used to use a decent free app before the 3GS came out. Wish I remembered the name, sorry :(

Re: Dial by name

Actually, I don't want voice dialing. I want Smart Dialing. Where you type out their name using the phone keyboard. I found an app that's only .99 and seems like it would do the job. The only problem is that it cannot do voicemail and I believe it can't show incoming or missed calls in it's call logs. That means it couldn't be a full replacement for the Apple dialer. I just don't understand why Smart Dialing isn't included... it's not a new concept.
