4th Generation iPhone revealed!

According to iPhone developer, the next version of the iPhone is a go, and that the phone is being used by developers even at this moment.
As per a report by MacRumors, usage records for an unreleased iPhone have been spotted. The app used was iBART , which is a public transportation guide for the San Francisco train system. The first news of the next gen iPhone broke out back in August when it was discovered in the iPhone firmware files, but this is the first time the handset has actually been spotted.
As expected, details of the next0gen iPhone have been kept tightly under wraps, but we do know one thing - the new iPhone will have a multi core processor that could enhance performance significantly. The naming scheme has not changed so we can refer to the new iPhone as iPhone 3.1, the successor of the 2.1 (3GS) and the 1.2 (3G). The iPhone 3.1 will face a stiff competition from the likes of Palm and especially Android based phones like the Motorola Droid and the barrage of HTC handsets.

since it took so long to get basic things into the iphone like copy paste, i wonder if this iteration will have the phone call feature.... lol sorry couldnt resist a shot at the dropped calls. its still an awsome phone imho.

Honestly, all the have to do is upgrade the firmware and you are all set.

There will now be 4 different versions of iPhones and they all look alike.

honestly, if they implement a elegant way of multitasking in the new iphone (multiflow for example) as a stock feature with no need to jailbreak

its game over.....

Lets not forget, port it over to all major carriers...Along with those elements you mentioned, it would ring in the new era of the Ipod....

Apple will NEVER port to multiple carriers. If you haven't noticed with their computer and OS(snow leopard), apple is a very exclusive company. They don't need put thier OS on multiple platform such as dell or HP cause they won't utilize it correct or if thier is a problem who do you call apple or HP? WHat if it's a software problem or a hardware problem? You will be so confused thats why apple keeps things simple by letting you call on place and go to one genius bar! Now if they had a CDMA version and a GSM that's 2 different departments you have to deal with and another spec you have to tell a operator when you call your service provider if theres a problem.

and i highly doubt this iphone will be called "iPhone 3.1". For one this is the 4th generation iphone. With this new iphone I'm sure OS 4.0 will be coming out so pretty much they are DONE with "3" anything.

That article makes getting the iphone seem like a death sentence....even ATT will be getting thier iphone killing army of android phones, no big deal.
