HELP PLS: Stock Optimus S

My daughter has the Optimus S and it is completely stock. For some unknown reason her phone has just decided to get stuck on the android screen of boot up. I can get it into recovery, but it will not reset to factory or anything. It will just hang up at a screen with the droid and a giant !

In the recovery screen it says that it can't find command file CACHE: recovery/command... that no valid image is in the cache.

Is there anyway I can install that file with the SD card? And if so, where can I find it. All the information I have found are for rooted phones.

This is a bone stock ROM? No root, no recovery?

Straight stock. Straight out of the box. No custom recovery. No root.

Tried putting this: Sprint - Software Downloads - Smartphones - LG Optimus S™

On the sd Card and applying that update through the recovery on the phone, but no dice. Just get the droid with the giant !

I've never had an LG phone, so I'm not really sure. Did copying the update to the SD card even try to load? Was it a full ROM or just an update?

It did nothing and it was a full ROM. Ended taking it to Sprint. Apparently the update was defective and they knew about it and the reps had a version that would work.
