LG Optimus S Software Update - Android 2.3 (LS670ZVH)



Enhancements/Fixes:

- Volume adjustment from handset when backlight is off and in a Bluetooth call

- Initiation of a 3-way call in certain markets

- Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)

- Updated color scheme (includesdarker notification bar and black-based menus)

- New on-screen keyboard (supports multi-touch input and a smart auto-correction function)

- Improved cut-paste functionality

- New integrated download application for ease in accessing downloaded files

- Updated camera application

- Power management and task killer applications



Important Notes:

- The new software version is: LS670ZVH

- Released in stages with 100% of devices having received the update within 10 days

And I have already created a custom ROM for those into that sort of thing :headbang:

Did you get it over the air, or did you download from somewhere and install? I am still waiting....

Someone snatched it at A/C and posted it. Check out this thread and it will school you on how to root and flash a new recovery: [How-To] Rooting LS670ZVH (temporary instructions) - Android Forums

BE WARNED: If you have a custom recovery now you cannot flash the update it will result in a brick! You must follow the instructions in the post above to flash the OTA properly.

I'm on gROM now, but my phone is not all fine and dandy. Nothing wrong with the ROM itself, but the call volume is way too high, even on the lowest setting. I suspected the gingerbread update to be the culprit so I googled a bit and sure enough I found quite a few people on Sprint's forums reporting the same issue. I don't even need speaker phone now; it's that loud. I might just go back to ZVD...if that's possible.

After the update on both the wife's and my phone lost the user dictionary..anyone see that? Texting is not fun after that the only auto complete words it has now is saved contacts

For the record, I just reverted to the old Froyo version....

My BT was unstable and the keyboard sucked.

Now, I guess I have to reroot this sucker so I can use my paid version of Titanium Backup to get my stuff back.

Maybe this is the time to try a ROM?
