Hello,

I've been a TP2 user and rooted it with the FRX07 versions. This led me to the Android side, so here I am. I purchased my mighty fine Optimus S for $42 on eBay and it is in good shape and activated.

I'll be asking a lot of questions, but hopefully I can contribute a bit too.

First question, looks like their is only one way to root this puppy? No point in setting it up on the Sprint ROM, might as well root away from the start.

hey Jerry, welcome to optimus land. i remember seeing you on the old TP2 threads. The optimus is 100x better and i'm glad i killed my TP2. Well worth an extra $10/ month.

Yes, I tried to get around the $10 for a 3G phone but they would not budge! I rooted the TP2 and tried Android and was obviously better than MS, so I have come over. I got this phone cheap, but even stock it performs well.

I guess since I am paying the $10 I could move up to a bigger phone... I have some trouble with the small keys. There are a lot on auction on eBay.

Thanks. I have to say i am very happy with the phone so far. It has not required a reboot for days and battery life is just fine.

I got into rooting with the TP2. Is it worthwhile to root this phone? Hate to lose the reliability.
