Amazon App Store

Looking for confirmation on this, link please if you can find it, but I thought I heard somewhere here that the Amazon app store, actually checks to see if an app does what it's supposed to do before accepting it. In other words significantly cutting down on virus like apps, is this true statement or did I misquote someone??

TIA

How does the app approval process work?
Our goal is for Amazon Appstore customers to have a good experience with every app they buy from the Appstore. As a result, we will be testing the apps you submit prior to making them available in our store to verify that each app works as outlined in your product description, does not impair the functionality of the mobile device or put customer data at risk once installed, and complies with the terms of the Distribution Agreement and our Content Guidelines. For clarity, our intent is not to be prescriptive in terms of what constitutes good app design. Amazon is a big believer in innovation in general, and we hope to feature many creative and innovative apps in the Appstore.

When you submit an app in the Developer Portal, the Appstore team will start the app review process. You can track the approval status of your app at any time by logging into the Developer Portal and finding your app in the “Dashboard” on the portal home page. If we have a question about your app during the review process or determine it does not meet one of the Appstore’s acceptance criteria, we will notify you using the email address associated with your account and provide guidance on next steps. We will also notify you once your app successfully completes the testing process. At that point, your app will be published and ready for merchandising when the Appstore launches.

Wow, how did I miss that...I thought I searched for buzz words (Control F)--too lazy to read all of that , not sure what I was smoking that day...

Thanks, that gives me some level of comfort when blindly downloading apps...

You should check the app store everyday, since they are giving away a free app everyday. You never know when you can get a real bargain..
