Folks, regarding Google Maps:

If on Sprint/Telus and ? I advice to NOT use version 3.3 of Google Maps (the latest) but stick with 3.2.1.

v3.3 breaks or really screws up MyLocation big time, whereas it should work with 3.2.1 as usual:

It's not the kitchen as I have tried this on other devices, including a Treo Pro. It is definitely something with how v3.3 works with Sprint/Telus towers. No fix available.

I'll try 3.2.1 one more time but it's behaving exactly the same way as 3.3 on Cal's Kitchen ROM.

Not that I know of but its very easy....you take the 28008 folder from the SYS folder and place it into the SYS folder into your kitchen. Take the 28008 folder from the ROM\Shared and place it into the ROM\Shared folder in your kitchen. Then go into ROM\Touch_Pro2 folder and make a copy of 28005 and rename it 28008.

That is a different problem of what some of us are seeing. We are not off by a some miles. We are getting nothing. I just tried 3.2.1 again and still get nothing (from towers). Something is not setup right.

Also GPS Locking is very slow (Cold) because of the same thing (I think). On EngeryROM, StockROM, MightROM I would always get instant locks. And TowerPosition with GoogleMaps. With this kitchen I get neither. Once GPS is locked it's ok and "warm GPS boot" is ok. But the Tower stuff is not quite right. Weather seems to be getting tower information ok, buts always been a little shakey on all ROMs (bounces between town and state).

Okay, for the Google Maps stuff, maybe try this .cab. Though AFLT shouldn't play a role with aGPS, it can't hurt. I know this .cab really helps with the aGPS part. Well, if on Sprint.

I'm using 21882 w/ GMaps 3.2.1 with no issues, so I guess there is something missing/not working, but honestly, I didn't add/remove anything that directly relates to MyLocation AFAIK. Very confusing.

Side Question: Does anyone have a cab file of OZ Instant Messaging app that came with the TP2. I know it's in the kitchen but I do not want to build it in.

Thanks for trying, but no go. This is on a fresh ROM that I only installed GoogleMaps 3.2.1 on first. I'm building on 28005. I applied your patch and rebooted.

Does anyone with 28005 on Sprint (or possible other) have GoogleMaps 3.2.1 (or 3.3) locking with towers only (Use GPS OFF). If you had the GPS on you have to shut it off and start GoogleMaps with USE GPS off then click the "My Location" blue dot. It should still roughly find your location.

what is the advantage of using the tower lock on with google maps or myphone, somebody put me on? when i get tower locks it always like 1100 so what is the point? Someone educate me on this.
