Re: How To Flash Your Touch Pro

I tried to relock my HTC Sprint Pro and now I am stuck!
I have the same issues as Deadz below, I tried everything Deadz did to try to fix the problem. I have flashed many roms on to this phone and this is the first time I have locked it up.

When I try the SD card way I see the rainbow colored screen. Something flashes just for a brief second like no image found, but its so quick, I can't tell for sure if thats what it says and then just sits on the rainbow colored boot loader screen until i do a soft reset. My storage card does indeed have JD's image renamed just as mentioned above in the root directory of the SD card. Any ideas? Since flashing the Raphael_CDMA_HSPL_037 I have not done a hard reset, is that neccessary to make all this work?? Thanks,
My phone never resets back to normal.

After I finished flashing the oem sprint rom, I flashed to stock sprint radio, then I think I made a mistake on the relock step. I used the RUU to relock via USB because for some reason I was unable to flash from my SD card anymore when I started this flash back to stock process. When I used the RUU to flash the relock I thought it completed but it was stuck on a "Loading...." screen. After removing the battery I seen the splash screen and it says, " Security Unlocked, RAPH800,SPL-0.37.0000,MicroP-Herman (LED) v0c85,MicroP-Herman (KEY) v0685,PSOC-Raph STAGE_EVT v20, Upgrade Rom code error,Please try again,Serial".

I have tried - Flashing stock rom many time from different OS (Vista and XP) different computers, different USB connections. I did notice my splash screen changes from serial to USB when connect to computer. When flashing from USB screen changes to "0% with loading bar but nothing happens" on phone and computer.

Every time I try flashing from SD card it goes back to the original "Loading...." screen message and just locks up.

Can anyone help please..................

I have taking care of the problem, I just broke it for real and returned it for a new HTC TP PRO 2, I won't make this mistake again.

Re: How To Flash Your Touch Pro

All jokes aside, this saved my bacon! Had only one problem. I renamed my mighty rom without extracting and getting to the NBH file inside it. After I extracted and renamed it it worked perfectly with the Micro Flash Card.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!

Anything ROM based setting will be deleted like any MMS/WAP cab or custom setting .
PST setting should not be touched unless you flash a stock ROM and allow customization to run.

Re: How To Flash Your Touch Pro

Just a quick note - I didn't see this anywhere listed, but the flash card needs to be FAT32 formatted or it won't recognize the nbh file. I fought this for 3 weeks before trying that.

USE THIS THREAD TO UNLOCK --wow

see post 50 for indepth detaild instructions provided by egoldy

How to Flash Via PC:

1.download the ruu.zip attachment
2.unzip to your desktop
3.then in the newly created RUU directory add the rom of your choice - (copy the RUU_Signed.nbh to desktop\RUU)
4.Place phone in bootloader mode (power button while holding volume down button)
5.open the ROMUpdateUtility.exe
6.follow the RUU on screen instructions from there

If that fails please trying these directions (thanks sn0b0ard)

1. Establish active sync connection (this is the most important step).
2. Copy the RUU_signed.nbh into the RUU folder.
3. Run ROMUpdateUtility.exe and follow the steps on screen to flash ROM.
4. Once the phone reboots, go through Windows Mobile setup and let it finish.
5. Perform a hard reset (hold power, volume down, and center d-pad).
6. Complete the Windows Mobile setup and start using your new ROM!

Flash from microSD Card (Thanks to MadlyAlive):

1. Make sure you backup anything that is necessary to your day to day operations! At a minimum, please perform an ActiveSync to Outlook or your Exchange server prior to flashing!
2. Rename the custom ROM NBH file from RUU_Signed.nbh to RAPHIMG.nbh
3. Copy RAPHIMG.nbh to the root of your microSD Card.
4. Hold the Volume Down and Power button simultaneously. While you're still holding those 2 buttons, press the reset button with your stylus.
5. When your Touch Pro tells you to do so, press the power button to begin the flash process. If you do not get the message to press the power button to flash, there is a mistake in the name of the NBH file or you do not have the file at the root of your microSD card.
6. When flashing is complete, perform a soft reset.
I have a htc touch pro sprint with a custom rom. It is unlocked and I want it to go back to stock.
Do I follow steps 1 through 6 via pc to flash back to stock (sprint) or something else?
I just bought it off ebay.

Use the relocker. See below:

RELOCKING

Relocking is actually MUCH easier than unlocking. There is really just two steps.

step 1.) Flash a stock SHIPPED rom (not dumped while a dumped rom is just the stock rom, the certificats are signes wrong and once you flash the locker it will give an invalid rom error.

step 2.) entering bootloader by using the sspl exe linked above, flash the relocker this again is a flash exactly like a normal rom flash except for your mode of entering bootloader. after these two steps are done, you are relocked.

A few people have mentioned hitting the unbootable cycle when relocking just like when unlocking. if this happens, just flash the stock shipped rom again.
