Official leaked Froyo 2.2 FRF84B

The "official" version of Froyo has been leaked and is now available for download. This is for root users only at the moment but I imagine it wan't be long for the non rooted folks too.

Get it here:

I haven't loaded this myself yet but I plan to give it a try a bit later on today. :)

Way out of practice. I am running Droidmod 1. I download the .zip file to the sd card root directory, and then do what, or are there preliminary thing I have to do?

This is what I did - I first made sure I was rooted.

1 - You already got the zip on your card
2 - Turn phone on while holding X
3 - Make a full system back up (with all options)
4 - Then make a cache and data back up (you will restore this over top the 2.2)
5 - Wipe / factory reset (This is what I did)
6 - Install 2.2 zip
7 - Restore data and cache back up
8 - Reboot phone

Why are steps 4/7 and 5 needed?

4 - Is backing up all your data and cache - Just as it states
5 - This is just what I did - A "fresh" new start
7 - This restores you data and cache on 2.2

This should only take a few minutes - There is no reboot of the phone between 3 - 7

Mine is working good. There are a few GUI changes that I have noticed.

I cant find a wireless tether though

I'm curious if JIT has been optimized for the Motorola Droid hardware. ANyone able to post benchmark tests using linpack?
