WOW!!! is all I gotta say. 2.1 is great so far. Very user friendly a few cosmetic changes, Its amazing that he can get this to work. He should go work for Google or HTC.

as this is my first 2.1 rom, how do I install google maps navigation? Or is it just google maps?

I had that question also. I just installed google maps from the market. Go to directions and it will work. You need to install some voice program but it will take it to you when you start the directions.
