Glad to see you here. I rocked your rom on my TP2. Does your ROM update the radio and wimax to 2.05.00.06.10? On the latest ROM from others it appears 4g is broken with the latest OTA.

Thanks again for your time and support.

The update does not include the radio or Wimax update so you will have to install those at your own discretion.

Anyone who lives in a 4G area and tries my ROM out please leave some feedback regarding the 4G connectivity. I unfortunately do not live in one so cannot test it out myself. I currently have my ROM installed and flashed to the stock Radio which is linked in the original post.

Thanks in advance guys!

I guess I will link both. I am still unsure as to what effects any of the radios have on 4G as I cannot test it out myself but nonetheless I will link both radios and people can choose to install at their discretion. Thanks man!

Sounds good Chris. All loaded up on your Rom. No issues thus far. Thanks!

Regarding radios, I updated but was worried but it seems to work great. Cant test 4g either so hoping it doesn't mess up anything..

The 4G should be controlled by WiMax update which I have NOT installed as there are too many conflicting reports right now. The baseband radio however should not have an affect 4G (from what I have read and someone may correct me if I amn wrong).

Chris, Good to see you creating Sprint Lover's ROM for EVO just like you did for TP2. Yours is the only ROM that is closest to the way I want.

I am fully rooted with Toast part 1/2 and was waiting for an eligible ROM to flash. Now that I know my choice, I have a question. Can I flash over the existing rooted stock ROM and retain the data/settings or do I need to wipe data before flashing the ROM? I am guessing wiping cache/dalvik is needed.

Keep the good work up.

Toast's Method recommends wiping data/cache and also the Dalvik Cache (twice) so this would erase all of your settings. I find it pretty easy to set everything back up so it wasn't a big deal to me.

Have you installed Calkulin's 4G WiMax update (Many people reported this breaking 4G and also causing a problem flashing to other roms)? The baseband radio's are for 3G and shouldn't affect the 4G radio. If I activate the 4G widget it scans for roughly 15-20 seconds then locks on (the widget toggles from bottom to top and turns green) only problem being I am not in a 4G area so my notification bar on the top still shows 3G.

When you say scanning do you mean the widget never toggles the green switch?

I did install Calks update a while back, I have been running OMJ 1.6 don't think 4g worked on that either. No issues installing this ROM, when I activate 4g it turns on then goes to scanning but never finds a 4g signal. Anyway to fix the 4g issues Calks patch may have created?

Yes that method in the post will help you restore back to factory if Calk's 4G/WiMax patch affected your phone. But you said "never stopped scanning for 4G"..did you mean that the toggle never turned green in the 4G widget?

the bar does go green, but when you go look at settings>wireless its stuck at scanning and not finding the sprint signal. the green bar on the widget just seems to indicate the 4g radio is on not connected.

Okay I see what you mean. Do you live in a 4G area where you have connected before (on stock/any other rom)? Also, if there is no 4G available should the scanning time out or does it continue to scan even on stock if not in 4G area? (Wish I had more answers for you but no 4G for me right now..lol)

Yea lots of 4g here, works stock good in this area, trying the fix now, downloading slow

Its like the wifi if you have it on is will scan till it gets a signal or kills your battery!

Also..can anyone confirm what the normal behavior is if you DON'T live in 4G area with the scanning. Does it endlessly scan or time out?

cool...but does anyone have an answer on whether or not the 4G radio continues to scan if you are in a non-4g area? Just want to make sure I dont have to change anything for future updates.

Basically, should the 4G contiinue to scan until it locks on a signal or should it time-out?

Re: [ROM] 7/2/10 | Sprint Lover's Evo 2.1 | OTA 1.47.651.1

From my experience, when there is no 4G signal it will continue to display "Scanning...". I recently got my 4G back up and running with the new kernel. I have been testing my 4G signal to make sure there aren't any more problems. I do ALOT of driving around the Philadelphia area (in and out of 4G coverage areas), and given the recent problems regarding the OTA update and 4G, I am CONSTANTLY checking my 4G to see if it is working. I can honestly say, it has held a 4G connection so good, I dont need to have 3G on anymore when I am in Philadelphia.

When I get back home I will download this rom and try it out on my evo. Chris' roms were ROCK SOLID on my TP2, and I know this rom will deliver. If there any problems I will report back. I had Sprint send me out a replacement Evo. I have been experimenting with my old one to find out what exactly I need to do in order to have everything functioning 100%. I have about 3 more weeks left before I need to send the old Evo back in to Sprint.

If there is anything that needs testing, please let me know. It gives me a reason to play with my phone. :laughing6:

Not using this ROM right now but the 4g is supposed to scan for a few minutes and then timeout. That's the default behavior. Does it on my current ROM, did it on stock too.

I flashed back to stock and didn't see this happen. My 4G just scanned endlessly. I also called Sprint and was told that this was normal and that it will continue to scan in the background unless it locks on a 4G signal.
