Carrier ESN/ Flashing Question

Ok, was browsing ebay & I saw someone with a Touch Pro with a bad Sprint ESN. The seller claims the phone cannot be activated thru Sprint due to the bad ESN, BUT can be flashed to an Alltel or Verizon or other CDMA ROM and be activated. Is this possible? I mean, I know how to flash to a new ROM, but would this work?

Re: Carrier ESN/ Flashing Question

The ESN is only blacklisted through Sprint. As long as another carrier will activate a phone with a Sprint ESN, you shouldn't have any problems (blacklisted or not).

Cool cool. As a matter of fact I'll probably call Alltel just to make sure... So technically I wouldn't have to flash a new ROM tho unless I just wanted to?

I have a sprint diamond with a bad esn activated on alltel. They didn't give me any trouble when I activated it.
