Start Menu Colors

Well, I've been playing around with my Sprint CDMA diamond with Juicy 3.4.1 for half the day now. I've taken it from the regular theme to this one that I've put together. I've used these forums for almost everything, thanks for all your effort =) There's just one thing that I cannot seem to figure out how to do through searching the forums, and that is changing the color of the Start menu selectoin from green to red or orange. I've looked everywhere and the focus do not fix it, and there is a thread but the links are dead and I'm not sure if it ever worked. I've changed registries and used UI Tweak and got it to work, but then I later did a soft reset and Idk what I did and now it doesn't work anymore lol. So, does anyone know where I can go to figure out how to change this? Is it in UI Tweak somewhere specifically?

Also, I tried to begin to change the wallpaper to every tab in TF3D earlier, but I ended up with the white box so I removed what I had done. Should I be able to do it with my setup here?

Thanks, and sorry if this is a repeat, but I relaly did search for hours for this color thing

Re: Start Menu Colors

Update this registry entry with the colors you'd like.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\EnlargeMenu]
"ManilaCustomHlUp"=dword:0049CE00
"ManilaCustomHlDown"=dword:0049CE00

Note: there are two colors, making them different will create a gradient effect.

Regards.

Thanks for the help so far! Anyway, I tried those registry edits, but I do not have "ManilaCustomHlUp" or down... Looked around and couldn't find it anywhere.

Messed more with UI Tweak, and more reg edits, and nothing seemed to work. Changed some of the HTCBlack.tsk too.

Eventually I noticed that if I turn off "enable large start menu" then the start menu does appear red like I want, but I do not know which tweak did it.

The top "X" button and all the current running programs still works in Green still, any way to fix that?

Thanks again for the help.

Re: Start Menu Colors

here's a solution for manila, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=430527

the start menu can be changed w/a good .tsk.

i've noticed the "allblack.tsk" looks great, but doesn't change the highlight color for the start menu, etc.

what i have found works is to install another .tsk (i prefer the "HTC_New_default.tsk") that changes the green highlight color to a grey.

*edit* the .tsk is too large. search for it, if you can't find it i'll try to host it somewhere.

Re: Start Menu Colors

Thanks, I'll try that .tsk idea.

Like I said earlier, I have tried all the reg edits and tried UI Tweaker When not using large start menu it is working, but not for the top right "X" that closes programs. The following I have aready tried, but they did not seem to do much, maybe they will after changing the .tsk and continuing not using the large menue.

HKCU/software/microsoft/today/HTC Black.tsk
HKLM/software/microsoft/color
"BaseHue" value to 160

Re: Start Menu Colors

Any luck finding the reg edit to change the highlights? I've got the same problem, the enlarge start menu highlight and the X button highlight are still ugly green...
